Molly Ker Hawn
I was born in New York City and received all my education there up to a BA in English Literature from Queens College. After a short stint in the Peace Corps – where I met my husband, Nick Manning, a filmmaker and professor of film studies – I received an MS in information science from Syracuse University. I now reside in Miami Beach’s South Beach and am a frequent visitor to London.
My novels include the Regency romances The Reluctant Guardian (1999), Seducing Mr Heywood (2001), and The Sicilian Amulet (2004).
My non-fiction biography My Lady Scandalous was published by Simon and Schuster in hardcover (2005) and paperback (2010). I currently write for the blog Number One London on Regency and other British-related topics
The Look of Love, the catalog of an eye miniature exhibit now touring the United States which opened at the Birmingham Museum of Art this year and is about to open at the museum of the University of Georgia at Athens, prominently features five short stories – “Pippa & William,” “Ursula Engleheart Prepares Tea For Her Artist Husband George…,” “I Mourn Your Loss, My Beloved,” “My Mother, Mariah Norcross, “The Grey Eye in Great-Aunt Lavinia’s Jewlery Box” -- inspired by the works in the collection. The short stories have been particularly singled out for praise by reviewers and the catalog, published by D Giles Ltd of London has been a bestseller in the museum world.
