Jack Fredrickson is the author of the Dek Elstrom mysteries and the stand-alone thrillers, SILENCE THE DEAD and THE BLACK CAGE. His short fiction appears in Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine as often as the editor can stand it and been included in anthologies edited by Michael Connelly, Charlaine Harris, and Libby Fisher Hellman. His work has been awarded Shamus nominations for Best First Novel, Best Novel, and Best Short Story; been featured in the Wall Street Journal and the Chicago Sun-Times; and been reviewed on NPR and in the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and other newspapers. Non-fiction credits include essays and columns in the Chicago Tribune Sunday Magazine and local newspapers, and business books published by AMACOM and Greenwood Press. He lives with his wife west of Chicago.
