Mike White

Mike White is an Asian-Canadian American living in San Francisco. He has done animation for television, directed music videos, started companies, built games for mobile phones, tablets, desktop, web and virtual reality, and made comic books.

He likes making comic books the best.

Starting out at the age of 4 teaching himself how to draw by tracing Garfield strips, it has been Mike’s lifelong dream to make a living drawing comics. One day, after getting nachos for lunch, Mike and his girlfriend Carol were walking around an outdoor mall and met a cute little puppy at a local popup adoption event. After much consideration they adopted the puppy, named her Melody, and her delightful and infectious personality became the inspiration for the Mellybean story.

Mike’s debut middle-grade graphic novel series MELLYBEAN AND THE GIANT MONSTER sold in a three-book deal at auction to Razorbill/Penguin Young Readers. The first two books are available now, with the third publishing in April 2022.
