Lawrence M. Schoen

Lawrence M. Schoen holds a PhD in Cognitive Psychology, has been nominated for the Campbell, Hugo, and Nebula awards, and received the Cóyotl award for Best Novel. He is the founder and director of the Klingon Language Institute, operates the small press Paper Golem, and is a practicing hypnotherapist specializing in authors’ issues. In June 2018 he left his position as director of research for a medical center and now devotes himself to writing full-time.
His previous science fiction includes many light and humorous adventures of a space-faring stage hypnotist and his alien animal companion. His most recent book, THE MOONS OF BARSK, takes a very different tone, exploring issues of determinism and free will, generally redefining the continua between life and death. Lawrence lives near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his wife and their dog.
