Phillip F. Schewe

Phillip F. Schewe is a scientist and writer. He has Physics and English degrees from the University of Illinois and Michigan State University, including a PhD in the subject of particle physics. Much of his professional career has been devoted to writing and popularizing physics research.
On the literary side, he was for many years a playwright. Some of his plays have been performed in New York and Washington, DC. He has contributed articles to the Washington Post and the New York Times and is the author of two books: THE GRID (published in 2007 by the Joseph Henry Press), a look at how society uses and loses electricity (and declared by NPR as one of the science books of the year); and MAVERICK GENIUS (published in 2013 by St. Martin’s Press), a biography of scientist and writer Freeman Dyson.
