Robert Morrison is a British Academy Global Professor at Bath Spa University and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. His book, THE REGENCY YEARS: DURING WHICH JANE AUSTEN WRITES, NAPOLEON FIGHTS, BYRON MAKES LOVE, AND BRITAIN BECOMES MODERN was named by The Economist as one of its 2019 Books of the Year. His biography of Thomas De Quincey, THE ENGLISH OPIUM-EATER, was a finalist for the James Tait Black Award.
